What is your style of photography?
Beautiful, Stylish, Creative and unobtrusive. I would say my primary method is photojournalism. I do not like to change thing to pose people during their ceremony. I believe this method will resulted in most natural looking photos that have meaning.
Wedding photojournalists don’t take formal portraits?
I spend most of the day documenting the wedding day as it happens without intervening or directing. My goal is to take pictures of the day as they happen and not create or setup any pictures. This often leads to the misconception that wedding photojournalists don’t take ANY posed portraits or group shots. I’m more than happy to take some time for group shots of the family, bridal party, and wedding couple. However, I’m more likely to keep this session shorter than other types of photographers so I can quickly get back to what I do best, documenting the real moments of the day.
What gear do you use?
I’m currently using two Nikon D3S and wide range of Nikkor lenses. I’m available light shooter and I love using fast glass. My favorite lenses for wedding are 24mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.4. With fast glass and the incredible Nikon D3S, I can shoot where there is literally no light without flash. You can view the complete list of gear here.
What post-production do you do?
All photos are color corrected and cropped if necessary. Some photos will will converted to black and white, sepia, or other toning method. Your DVD will contain two folders, one for full resolution JPEGs, another for low resolution JPEGs for email or social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter.
Where can I get the photos?
All photos will be delivered on DVD. You will get two copies via EMS or mail within 4 weeks. You will also have your own password protected online gallery with all the photos which be be shared with your friend and family. They can also download the photos directly from the online gallery.
How many photographer do I need?
Normally, one photographer is more than enough but having two photographers are better if your wedding has a lot of guests.
Is having Uncle Bob with expensive camera is the same as hiring professional wedding photographer?
Well, maybe yes and maybe no. Does Uncle Bob have backup gear in case he has equipment problems? Does he know his camera settings instinctively so he can adjust for quickly changing light conditions? Has he invested thousands of dollars in extra flashes, camera bodies, and lenses? Has he mastered how to balance ambient light and flash? Has he invested in high end computer hardware and software, and learned advanced editing and retouching techniques to make your images look amazing? Does he have the experience to anticipate all of the important moments of your wedding?
You get the idea. There is a big difference between an experienced professional wedding photographer, who has dedicated their professional career to wedding photography, and a casual amateur who just bought the latest camera gear. Sure, you may get lucky and Uncle Bob may get a couple of good pictures, but if it’s important for you to have high quality images from your wedding, don’t take chances.
Are hair, make-up and videographer included in the price?
Hair, Make-up and videographer are not included in the price. I would suggest you find your own since everyone has their own personal taste, just like photography.
Do I need to pay a retainer?
A retainer of 50% is required to make a reservation. Please contact us to check our availability and please pay the retainer within 24 hours after receiving confirmation. Please also pay the rest of service fee on your wedding day.
